Biblical Discipleship

Christianity is more than saying a prayer that guarantees eternal safety. It is a life-long commitment to reflect Christ to the world, transforming default responses (through the aid of the Holy Spirit) to reflect the pattern God highlighted in the Bible. It is not easy to be a professing Christian. " . . . For you yourselves know that we are appointed to this. For, in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation" (1 Thessalonians 3:3-4).

Like salmon swimming upstream, it is a continual struggle to oppose the flow of culture and natural inclination. Often, as students from Christian families are exposed to a plethora of lifestyles and beliefs within the context of higher education, their faith and beliefs fade. Accountability yields victory. "Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12).

Legacy Collegiate Studies exists to challenge students to grow in their walk with Christ while they obtain accredited credentials. Our goal is to train students to filter all of life through the lens of Scripture, exploring culture, current events, and academics from God's perspective.

Accountability in Bible reading, memorization, meditation, and fellowship with staff and students who are actively seeking to imitate Christ hosts a rich environment for Biblical discipleship. Since "faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead" (James 2:17), ministry outreaches train students to practice practical Christianity by impacting the lives of others.
