Practical Christian Living
Legacy Collegiate Studies is committed to training Christians who view all of life as a forum for their worldview and beliefs. We hold students accountable in several areas to encourage growth in Christ.
Chapel
Legacy Collegiate Studies emphasizes discipleship and spiritual disciplines. An integral part of this focus is chapel. Students are encouraged to come ready to learn, take notes, participate in discussion, and share from personal Bible study. Chapels are taught by a variety of speakers and feature practical and doctrinal topics. Chapel is a purposeful beginning to busy school days.
Worldview Training
Everyone views the world and interprets events from a distinct perspective; this outlook is his or her worldview. Childhood training and experiences, family, society, ethnicity, books read, movies watched, and music listened to form a tapestry of beliefs a person holds about the world. Every day, messages slip in and become the threads that hold our worldview together.
In an effort to bring "every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5), Legacy students are trained to explore every area of life--academics, current events, culture--from a Biblical worldview and to test the messages they encounter in textbooks, advertising, or other media for Biblical truth. We incorporate many top-quality training materials into our worldview curriculum.
Bible Meditation
Students are encouraged to seek the Lord each day in times of personal Bible reading and reflection. We recommend this activity occur early in the day in preparation for chapel and to establish a right focus for the day. Weekly assignments help students build habits of Bible memory and meditation.
Church
Because of Legacy's goal to encourage students to be loving and humble reformers in their communities, church involvement is a priority. Church attendance is expected every Sunday morning, as well as active participation in church, volunteering and serving within that body of believers.
